Imitation is a human mechanism. Our unsatisfied desire to improve ourselves leads to the imitation of practices that promise enhancement. But the one who copies is easy to manipulate. In order to gain more control about our behaviour, we will investigate strategies of communication that lead to imitation. Here we will focus on the phenomenon of the internet meme where people spread an idea by imitating the concept behind. One of the most famous examples is the Harlem Shake which is a video clip of 30 seconds where people dance however they can to get most attention. Why do I copy something? What lies in certain movements that makes us imitate them? ‘Show Me How’ is going to deconstruct the human mechanism of imitation and cut up the collected madness of the copy-culture.
