“me again – but not alone”

20 years are gone. The encounter with the musicians Gebrüder Teichmann brought Gisela Müller back on stage. me again – but not alone is a try out performance and an attempt to create a space of resonance where movement and sound converge. A space of exchange and of dialogue where the movement (dance) embodies sound and the sound picks up movement (dance). An interaction of tables, the dance floor and the players which might even lead to a battle.

Since 2004 she is member of the board of Tanzfabrik Berlin and responsible for the artistic and educational programme of Berlin’s Tanzfabrik School and the director of the Dance Intensive programme. From 2006 until 2010, Gisela Müller was visiting professor at the Inter-University Dance Department / HZT in Berlin (Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz) where she invented and co-directed the BA course in Contemporary Dance, Context, Choreography. Beside she is an active member of the east European network for performing art Nomad Dance Academy since 2012.

Gebrüder Teichmann, the two brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmann, are active musicians, DJs and cultural activists. They started getting into music in 1989 at the age of 9 and 12 years with their punk band Totalschaden before they discovered electronic music and became an active part of the Berlin underground scene since the late 90s. Together and as solo they have released on various labels, such as Kompakt, Ladomat, Killekill, Staubgold, Soundway, Outhere or Disko B and their own labels Festplatten, Teichtracks and NOLAND. Their work is not limited by style or genre. Many collaborations with artists from a vast range of genres – like hip hop to classical music, traditional to experimental music – allowed them to constantly widen their live performance and improvisation in electronic music, and further to create bridges between musicians from different backgrounds.
In the field of contemporary music they´ve worked with ensembles such as the Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Decoder, Omnibus Ensemble and composers Moritz Eggert and Leopold Hurt. As networkers the brothers developed intercultural projects in cooperation with Goethe Institutes around the world, such as BLNRB, Ten Cities, Karachi Files, Soundcamp Sri Lanka or Mondmaschine. They curated nights for several Berlin Festivals like Worldtronic Festival (Haus der Kulturen der Welt), Africa Music Convention, Afghanische Kulturwochen (Auswärtiges Amt), or the 3-day Festival “From Inside To Way Out / Perspectives from Contemporary Pakistan” at HAU, Hebbel am Ufer.
