Regional collaboration::: Lokomotiva on Co-festival in Ljubljana- Working visits of Biljana Tanurovska Kjulavkovski and Violeta Kachakova in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 23rd till 27th November 2019

Partners Nomad Dance Academy Slovenia and Kino Siska- Centre for Urban Culture, Ljubljana have invited Biljana Tanurovska Kjulavkovski and Violeta Kachakova from 23 till 27 November in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to be guests of the CoFestival festival for contemporary dance 2019. They have the opportunity to present the organization, project space Kino Kultura and be part of the discussions, meetings and other festival activities.

Biljana Tanurovska Kjulavkovski together with Eddie Nixon from The Place, London, were part of the festival discussion – “Dance House or Dance Home?”, moderated by Dragana Alfirevic, a curator from Co-festival. Discussion was organized by EDN, Kino Siska and Nomad Dance Academy Slovenia.

Biljana Tanurovska Kjulavkovski today in Dijon will present her PhD Thesis “Theory of institutions and cultural policies for contemporary performative practices” nominated for the for the ENCATC Research Award.

The presentation is organised in the frame of 2019 ENCATC Congress on Cultural Management and Policy in Dijon 2-5 2019, dedicated on the subject of “Diversity and sustainability at work; Policies and practices from culture and education”. Biljana Tanurovska Kjulavkovski  from 6th till 9th of May, was part of the Naujasis Baltijos Šokis/New Baltic Dance Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania and meeting of GPS/ Global Practice Sharing Network.
This year the international dance festival “New Baltic Dance” for the 23rd time gathered international contemporary experts and producers from all over the world in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Lokomotiva – Center for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture as one of the Nomad Dance Academy partners, at Nomad Dance Advocates in Belgrade 2017

 

Nomad Dance Academy on 20 and 21 October 2017 organized an event Nomad Dance Advocates in Belgrade . This advocacy initiative has been organized in Skopje in 2012 and Sofia in 2015, and has been developed as a continuous  program for advocating for development of contemporary dance art in the region.

Nomad Dance Advocates is meant to be a gathering of artists and policy and decision makers where they can communicate and exchange experiences in a different, more direct and positive way. The idea behind this is to show the world of contemporary dance to the decision makers from a different perspective. Through the performative and less formal communication and discussions, games and art works, the representatives of ministries of culture, city administrations and other decision making bodies encounter artists, discover the world behind the stage and get a better insight into the potentialities of contemporary dance in today’s cultural space.
